 Itinerant Teacher

Children who are in need of a special education teaching program, which if not received would not interfere with their learning, may receive this service in an inclusionary or integrated setting (i.e. day care/home/nursery school).  Special education teaching services may be received with school district approval.

Programs are designed to meet the unique developmental and physical needs of each child.

Program
Individualization

The BOCES Preschool Program helps children reach their potential.  Specialists assess each child, with parental assistance, to determine the child's current functioning level in the areas of socialization, cognitive abilities.  From this information an individualized program is developed.

Family Support and
 Information Programs

The preschool programs do not replace parents, but are parent helpers.  The programs recognize and respect the irreplaceable and important roles of parents.  Counselors provide support, information, guidance and training.  In addition, workshops and special opportunities are planned with the primary purpose of helping parents help their children.
