Welcome to School Improvement! My name is Becky Chenaille and I am your regional curriculum specialist focused on English Language Arts and Literacy Instruction. I am also lucky to be the liaison between you and the New York State Department of Education on matters of ELA assessment and literacy. 3-8 Assessments in ELA and the 11th grade English regents are just two areas in which I concentrate. I also work to stay current on best practices for the teaching of ELA and Literacy K-12. The complexity of curriculum mapping has also become a focus of this office. I am not only intrigued by the process, I am excited about the 21st century tools for mapping and what this will mean for us as educators. We are truly in a new time and it warrants a clear, concise, and accurate picture of what is happening in our schools via the curriculum map.

If you are focused on ELA and Literacy, you have found a resource here in School Improvement.
