BATAVIA CTE CENTER AWARD WINNERS
Jireth Arias Diaz
Oakfield Alabama, $2,000
Jireth was a student in the Justice Academy where she could earn up to 15 college credits before starting college. Jireth took college courses in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Public Speaking, Psychology, and Sociology. Jireth was an outstanding student who also took AP courses, including AP Government, and worked part-time at various restaurants her senior year. Jireth also participated in link crew, youth court, NHS, and mock trial. Jireth was the recipient of the Batavia Rotary Scholarship. Jireth overcame numerous challenges her senior year to be successful in and out of the classroom. By overcoming these challenges, Jireth has shown the emotional maturity to handle anything that comes her way in the future. Jireth will be attending college at SUNY Brockport in the Fall and eventually attending law school where she plans to work either in criminal or family law.
Paige Harding
Oakfield Alabama, $1,500
Paige Harding is a graduate of Oakfield Alabama High School and valedictorian of her class. Paige also concurrently graduated from Genesee Community College with her Associates degree. In the fall Paige plans to attend Slippery Rock University where she will be a member of their Track and Field team specializing in Pole Vault. Paige will continue her education at LeCom where she plans to become a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Paige excels on and off the field in her numerous extracurricular activities where she constantly gives her all.
Urian Perez
Oakfield Alabama, $1,000
Urian has attended the Metal Trades program for the past two years. During that time, Urian demonstrated a strong work ethic, striving to learn all that he could about both machining and welding fabrication. Beyond his technical skills and positive attitude, Urian is a student of integrity, reliability, and perseverance. His willingness to learn and adoration for all things automotive, paired with his hands-on expertise, will only continue to assist Urian as he attends Ohio Technical College’s High Performance Racing Technology program in the fall.

Briana Blair
Dansville, $2,000
Briana Blair joined the Health Careers Academy for her senior year, bringing with her a strong academic record and an unwavering passion for healthcare. As the Salutatorian of her graduating class, Briana has consistently demonstrated excellence in her studies, leadership in her community, and a clear vision for her future. She will be attending Baylor University, where she plans to major in Biology on a pre-med track with a specialization in Pediatrics—an area that perfectly aligns with her compassion for children and dedication to service. Throughout high school, Briana has been an active and engaged student, participating in a variety of clubs and organizations that reflect her diverse interests and drive. She is a proud member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized as a NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete, highlighting her ability to excel both in the classroom and in athletics. She successfully runs her own business, showcasing her initiative, creativity, and commitment to making a positive impact. With her strong work ethic, leadership skills, and passion for healthcare, Briana is poised to make a meaningful difference in the medical field and beyond.
Kristyn Gonzalez Patron
Warsaw, $1,500
Kristyn is a dedicated student in the Human Services program and a proud member of the National Technical Honor Society. As a bilingual learner, she brings valuable cultural and linguistic insight to her academic and extracurricular pursuits. This fall, she will attend SUNY Geneseo, where she plans to major in Elementary Education and minor in Spanish/ ESL. Throughout her high school career, Kristyn has been actively involved in sports, dance, and community service, demonstrating a strong commitment to both personal growth and giving back. She is passionate about using her language skills to connect with and support young learners, both in her local community and abroad.
Kourtney Sabins
Wayland Cohocton, $1,000
Kourtney has been a dedicated student in the Health Dimensions program for the past two years, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to both her academic and personal development. Known for her motivation, perseverance, and compassion, she has worked hard to pursue her goals in the healthcare field. This fall, she will be attending Finger Lakes Community College to major in Nursing, all while working full time as a Certified Nursing Assistant—an impressive testament to her work ethic and determination. Her unwavering desire to care for others, combined with her strength and dedication, will undoubtedly make her an exceptional health care provider.
