February is CTE Month, and we’re excited to showcase our Diesel Mechanics students who are gaining the skills needed to keep heavy-duty vehicles and machinery running strong. Students in this program receive hands-on training in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered systems, preparing them for careers in trucking, heavy machinery, and corporate fleet maintenance. With diesel engines also serving as reliable power sources for generators, pumps, and industrial applications, the demand for skilled diesel technicians continues to grow. This two-year program equips students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed for success in the field. Through classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience at Noyes Hospital and ambulance ride-alongs, these students gain real-world training in emergency response.
Upon completion of the program, students earn their New York State EMT Certification, preparing them to work on an ambulance or continue their medical education toward careers as paramedics, firefighters, or even pre-med students. Their achievements were recognized during Electrical Week in Rochester, held in celebration of Thomas Edison’s birthday.Congratulations to Kylie and Ronald on this well-deserved recognition! Your hard work and dedication to the trades are truly inspiring!

This two-year program prepares students for careers in high-demand healthcare fields while offering opportunities for additional certifications in CPR, and First Aid training. With a strong foundation in safety, infection control, and patient care, these students are taking their first steps toward making a difference in the medical field. Training in a large commercial kitchen, students gain hands-on experience in food production, menu development, customer service, and banquet management. They also complete the Serve Safe safety and sanitation course, ensuring industry-standard knowledge in kitchen operations.
From appetizers to desserts, including international cuisine, students refine their culinary techniques while managing a café and dining room that serves faculty, staff, and guests. With career opportunities ranging from prep cook to executive chef, these students are preparing for a future in the fast-paced world of food service and hospitality.

Training in a fully-equipped salon, students develop hands-on skills in hairstyling, coloring, skincare treatments, and nail care. Advanced students apply their expertise in a salon environment, gaining real-world experience. Those who complete 1,000 hours and pass the course are eligible to take the New York State Licensing Exam, opening doors to careers in salons, spas, and beyond.
